How we work
Low pressure, done by hand, done right
We treat the wall with a biocidal softwash at low pressure, closer to a garden hose than a jet wash. The solution does the work and keeps clearing for days after we leave, so the finish stays clean for years, not months.
Why K-Rend goes green
Silicone render is designed to shed water, but it is still exposed to the same damp, mild climate as everything else. Algae settles on the textured surface, and on north-facing and shaded walls it spreads quickly, turning a bright white or cream finish dull green and then black.
The safe way to clean it
We never pressure wash K-Rend. High pressure can strip the silicone layer and leave the render open to water. A low pressure softwash lifts the staining and kills the algae at the root, so the finish comes back clean and stays that way. On a scraped finish the treatment gets right into the texture without disturbing it.

No. Softwashing works at low pressure, closer to a garden hose than a pressure washer. The cleaning is done by a biocidal solution, not by force, so it lifts algae and staining without eroding the finish or forcing water into the render.
Because we kill the growth at the root rather than just blasting the surface, a softwash typically stays clean for three to five years. Pressure washing only clears the top layer, so it often comes back within six to twelve months.
